Ever get that feeling when you just wake up after an amazing dream and you just don’t want it to end? So you try to close your eyes tightly and continue the dream but fail? No? Well I have, and JLS have too. So there.
Apparently, Eyes Wide Shut is about their search for the perfect girl who they never want to lose and the usual shizzle. To be honest, I think it’s really about just that normal morning moment we all get, where our beds are the equivalent to heaven and we just don’t “wanna wake up, wake up, wake up”.
It takes talent to write a top ten hit single about just that and might I add that JLS co-wrote the song. Though we don’t really know how much of the song they wrote… it could just be two words – “Yeah, Yeah” or it could actually be the deep meaningful parts. Personally, I think it’s the part about throwing your hand ups in the air because that is inevitable and makes an appearance in virtually every single the boys have had. And virtually every pop song too.
Then comes, Tinie Tempah! *Hyperventilates* Though his part is remarkably short but remarkable none the less. In this song, he rearranges the alphabet and we find out we even sleeps with sunglasses. That is pure dedication- beat that Fazer (The NDubz guy whose eyes we’ve never seen).
Its quite similar to One Shot, with the whole soft piano entrance followed by da da da da DUM. (I’m musically illiterate) BUT, the intro sounds ridiculously similar to Chris Brown’s Yeah 3x… fishy. Are we the first to notice it? Could this spark some controversy? Probably not.
The song is catchy, not annoyingly catchy but nice catchy. The kind of catchy that stays in your head and accompanies you through another boring science lesson. Along with a video of JLS pushing aside random blocks and a girl with a floaty dress, this is definitely a hit.
So I could’ve made a load of rubbish puns like Eyes Wide Shit. But instead, I'm gonna say HIT HIT HIT.
